How long before the carpet on the fields needs to be replaced?

All in-fill systems have an 8 year warrantee for the carpet.  The oldest Fieldturf field is in Portland and it is ten years old.  The Seattle Parks Department feels that their in-fill systems fields will have to be replaced in 15 years.  The project is designed so that only the carpet will have to be replaced.  The drainage and under layer stays intact.

How much will it cost to maintain the in-fill system fields?

Fieldturf’s maintenance agreement costs $5,500 per field per year.  Park District staff will be in charge of the maintenance. 

What is the project’s timeline?

The Parks will be applying for permits soon.  The goal is to raise the additional $750,000 by the end of November 2007 so that the project can go out to bid in early 2008.  The fields would be constructed in the summer of 2008 and open in September of 2008.
